"Leslie Patterson is an artist form Amarillo, Texas who has lived here her whole life. Prolific, as she is creative she sleeps, eats, and breathes art. She has always been creative, but when her mother passed she used art as a means of therapy, and honor to her mother, who was also a creative. She uses all types of mediums and never feels confined to one style, always seeking to improve her craft."
We first met Leslie in October of 2018, during an art show at the Gallery on 7th. The theme for that show was Halloween, being that we were in October. The quiet and reserved young lady we met that night soon turned into a great friend. Over the next weeks and months throughout shows and different themes she was a constant participator and her art was always stunning and innovative. Our relationship grew over the years and continued into our new venture being The Texas Rt 66 Visitor Center.
Leslie has put in many hours at the Visitor Center using her amazing artistic talent adding murals and other large pieces inside and out. The most notable being our giant floor mural that she created during our time that we were closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The mural is impressive as it sprawls out over and around our front counter more than 17 feet wide! If you have seen it for yourself you can attest to its beauty and unique Rt 66 flair. She has also added her talents to our outdoor Wild West town, creating murals of cactus and a train for our train station.
We could not imagine our business without Leslie being apart of it. She brings so much joy and energy to our efforts.
We send out monthly news letters and updates about special events. We would love to keep you in the loop!
